Shortcuts
The Shortcuts tool allows you to quickly access the most recent and relevant data for specific locations across the rail network. Shortcuts are saved filters that return a tailored list of sessions based on your selected criteria – such as Engineer’s Line Reference (ELR) ranges, tags, timeframes, and more. Once created, a shortcut will automatically update with any new data that fits your preferences, helping you stay informed without needing to run repeated searches.
How to Create a Shortcut
1. Locate the Shortcut Tab
- This can be located alongside the sessions tab button.
2. Choose Visibility
- Mine: Only you can see and use this shortcut (private).
- Everyone’s: Shared with anyone in your current workspace (public).
3. Enable Notifications (Optional)
- Opt-in to receive email alerts whenever new sessions which match your shortcut criteria are available.
4. Set a Name
- Choose a clear, descriptive name that helps you (and others, if public) quickly identify what this shortcut is for.
5. Select ELR Range(s)
- Add one or more ELRs that you’re interested in monitoring.
- Select the flag icon to auto-fill the start and end positions of an ELR.
6. Define a Time Window
- Options include:
- No time filter
- Start date only
- Start and end date
- Rolling window (e.g., Previous 1/2/3 Weeks, Previous 1/3/6 Months)
7. Add Tags for Specific Filters
- Customise your shortcut further by choosing from tags such as:
- Day or Night
- Forward or Backward video
- Video type: FFV, thermal, inspection, overhead
- Detection types: graffiti, signals, scrap rail, etc.
- Area of interest: includes emergency stops or wheel slips (if available in your workspace)
How to Use Shortcuts
- Use the search bar at the top of the shortcut section to find any shortcut by name. This is especially helpful if your workspace has multiple public shortcuts.
- Click any shortcut to expand it and view all matching sessions, sortable by most recent data or coverage of your selected ELR range.
- You can edit, delete, or adjust the privacy settings of your own shortcuts, and enable or disable email alerts at any time.
- Public shortcuts created by others are visible across your workspace – you can view them and opt into alerts, but cannot edit them.
