Summer Roundup: New Data and a Top 8 SME Award

Recent Highlights

It’s over halfway through the year, and the OBC team has been extremely busy expanding our AIVR capabilities, and capturing more data than ever before. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to recently, and what we have to look forward to.

Named a Top 8 SME

We’re proud to have been recognised as a Top 8 SME in the UK at the British Business Awards 2026. This is a reflection of the work we do every day alongside our team, customers, and partners to bring genuinely transformative technology to the railway industry.

CPD Certified Training & Lunch and Learns

A reminder that our two CPD-certified training sessions are open for booking.

The AIVR Drop-in is a hands-on dashboard walk through covering data capture, key tools, and exports. Beginning with an introduction to One Big Circle and the AIVR Platform, attendees are guided through the full suite of platform tools including map and session navigation, video and still-image playback, annotations, measurements, snapshots, and exports.

The OBC Lunch and Learn Webinar takes a wider look across our multi-award-winning suite of AIVR products. Through real case studies and live demonstration, attendees will see how AIVR can transform infrastructure monitoring – enhancing safety, reducing site visits, cutting costs, and improving decision-making across operations and engineering teams.

Both sessions run for an hour and are open to rail industry professionals at any stage of their AIVR journey. To book a session for your team, get in touch at enquiries@onebigcircle.co.uk

One Big Circle’s CPD-certified training sessions cover the full AIVR Platform, from data capture through to tools and exports.

Enhanced Shoe Monitoring with Conductor Rail Geometry Tracking

AIVR’s shoe monitoring has been enhanced with shoe geometry tracking – using machine learning to identify shoe and conductor rail position from video footage, creating a continuous trace of conductor rail height and stagger. The system also detects shoe exceedances and arcing events, giving engineers a more complete picture of third rail interaction.

3,000% Growth in Data Capture

Data capture and miles covered across the network have grown by 3,000%, reflecting the widening role AIVR now plays in keeping the UK’s railway running safely and efficiently. As more operators, maintainers and infrastructure managers bring AIVR onto their fleets, the platform’s coverage – and the value of the insight it generates – keeps compounding.

AIVR on the Move – Specialist Survey Trailers

Two specialised survey trailers have been commissioned with AIVR Focus line scanning and forward-facing cameras installed, expanding the ways in which AIVR data can be captured across the network. The trailers allow for flexible, targeted deployment in locations and scenarios where train-borne capture isn’t possible – broadening the reach of AIVR’s infrastructure monitoring capabilities.

Single Sign-On (SSO) Now Available

AIVR now supports Single Sign-On, giving organisations the option to access the platform using their existing company credentials. It’s a small change with a real impact on day-to-day usability – fewer logins to manage, and a smoother route in for teams already set up with their own identity provider.

Where to Find Us

The One Big Circle team will be showing face at the following industry events throughout the upcoming months. Come and say hello, see our technology in action, and learn more about how AIVR is helping create a safer, smarter railway:
