View a Session

Sessions are individual recordings which in combination make up the available coverage of the rail network. When viewing footage in AIVR you will always be viewing one particular session at a time.

Sessions are located in the bottom left panel and are listed in chronological order with the most recent at the top. When a session is selected, its footage is ready to view in the top left panel known as the video player.

How to View a Session

1. Select your desired session to display its footage in the video player.

2. Choose a footage type: video, low bandwidth, or still images.

  • Video: Play, pause, fast-forward, rewind, or adjust the playback speed.
  • Low bandwidth: Plays at reduced quality, helpful for slower network connections.
  • Still images: Provides precise control to step forward or backward by a single frame, second, 10 seconds, or a minute. This is ideal for focusing on specific objects or working with limited bandwidth.

3.  For sessions with multiple data capture methods, such as forward facing video cameras and thermal cameras, the type dropdown lets you switch between camera views while ensuring they all display your current location.
